Some personal info

I was born in Istanbul, Turkey. After going to high school at the cozy world of Robert College, I found myself in Ali Nesin’s Mathematics and Computer Science Department of the (then) recently founded Istanbul Bilgi University. During these years Ilhan Ikeda introduced me to computational algebra when he asked me to implement factorization of p-adic polynomials as a project in an algebraic number theory course.

I still administer mailing lists for the Department of Mathematics, Istanbul Bilgi University, including a popular mathematics discussion mailing list in Turkish with approximately 1300 subscribers for the Matematik Dunyasi magazine.

After university, I started working at the National Research Institute of Electronics and Cryptology in Turkey and enrolled in the cryptology masters program at the Institute of Applied Mathematics of the Middle East Technical University.
